Elio lives in central Comalapa with his seven older brothers and his parents. He began work with LWH on January 1, 2010. Elio worked as a woodcutter for 2 years prior to employment with LWH. Elio attends school on weekends and is studying to become a construction manager. Elio's long-term dream is to become a nurse.

Elio aspires to own a piece of land large enough to accommodate a house. He plans to apply his knowledge of building with tires to the construction of his house. He would like to start a family and have two or three kids. He knows that the poor economy in Guatemala makes it difficult to support a large family.
