The solutions to the environmental problems facing Guatemala require a grassroots approach. Local Guatemalans want to be educated and trained in resource management, conservation and preservation. LWH knows that most people can't drop everything and move to Guatemala, so we employ 16 full-time green builders who are in the field every day fighting to protect the environment. We are offering you an opportunity to join our team by sponsoring them.

A Long Way Home Green Builder is:

• An electrician installing solar power on a school not connected to the municipal grid
• A plumber building a composting toilet
• A construction foreman teaching dirt-packing of tires
• An IT professional building a new website for a green company
• A public school teacher demonstrating how to pack trash in plastic bottles
• An architect incorparating thermal mass temperature regulation in a new school design

Our Sponsor a Green Builder Campaign is easy to do and easy to understand. When you click on each Green Builder's profile you will see a video clip and read a description of their part in the Long Way Home team. You can choose from multiple levels of giving. You may want to buy a pair of boots or provide a year's salary. We hope you will make a long-term commitment to the Green Builder of your choice.
